To the Democrats: I see through your "blame the Republicans" three card monte game.

Follow me on twitter

It doesn't require an Albert Einstein to see through the scam. Simply put when it comes to the economic issues and matters of war and peace and civil liberties there isn't much daylight between you and the Republicans.

This is your scam and this is how your point men Harry Reid and Barack Obama worked it:

Back in 2008 the citizens of the United States elected a man of African ancestry to be President and even though the system is rigged so there cannot be a clean sweep of the Senate with only 1/3 of the seats up for grabs at a time, the people made the Senate 2/3 Democratic (counting Bernie Sanders) and made the House of Representatives yours.

If ever there was a time when you were in charge it was January 2009.
http://pleasedontvomitinthetaxi.blogspot.com/2013/01/lets-put-stop-to-shell-game-march-on.html

What did you do? You left the Senatorial courtesies of cloture and filibuster intact, giving the GOP leverage to allow you not to do what the people had elected you to do - bring change!

You concentrated your efforts on Obamacare, something that at best confuses your base and leaves may of them doubtful and suspicious of you.

Your stimulus program was too little and not actually concentrated on making jobs, and productive endeavors for the future. You mandated that steel and other materials being used on stimulus projects be bought in India and Chins, which stimulated their job pictures but not that much here.

And then came the 2010 elections and low and behold - surprise surprise! much of your base didn't bother to vote while the racists and bigots supermobilized.

So you hold on to the Senate by the skin of your teeth, still with the cloture and filibuster rules that are not in the Constitution and that allow you to escape responsibility for what does and does not happen in the Senate, The House of Representatives is going to be in the hands of the GOP for at least ten more years even though a majority of people voting for Representatives chose Democrats.

In the rout of 2018 orchestrated by Harry Reid and Barack Obama you lost control of most of the state governments and the GOP is busy finding ways to keep our base permanently out of the political game. Now, aren't you at least a little bit ashamed? I suspect it's more like you are relieved not to have to deliver for your base.

So, really, STFU about the bad bad Republicans. You handed the game over to them and I think you always were going to do just that.

A poem about the Nobel Peace Prize (I never could have sung this as a song)

Follow me on twitter

Perhaps To the tune of Jailhouse Rock but I'm not going to try to sing it

Now, Thorbjorn Jagland came to King Harald Five

an' said Mister you ain't gonna believe this jive

But after all you are King Harald Five

An'  it's on adversity that you thrive

An' Harald The King said let me guess
what your'e about to ask me  son

'cause when folks come at me like this it doesn't end up being very much fun

But I'm the King around here so  guess I am the chosen one

Yeah, I'm the King around here an' I guess I am the chosen one

Now, Thorbjorn Jagland told the Norse Head of State

What was once called false was true because we made a mistake

So ask Obama for the prize back cause we made a mistake

yeah Ask Obama for the prize back cause we made a mistake

The folks in the committee say it's really true

You're the head of state an so we're turning to you

'cause when we asked him he told the world it was a hoax

so we want you as his equal to give this mess a  coax

So King Harald Five said well I guess this thing has to be done

But this won't be easy an' I don't think it'll be much fun

So Harald Five got POTUS on the telephone and asked  politely if he's alone

'cause what I got to tell you's somethin' you might want to keep as your own

put the prize in a plain brown wrapper and send it back

there I said it how could this be said with politess or tact

you never deserved it and baby you know that's a fact

Some people here thought it'd influence your act

So the people here in Norway they want their damned  Nobel prize  sent back

ya got it????

Nobel Committee Asks Obama “Nicely” To Return Peace Prize

By NORM DE PLEUME
Nobel Committee Asks Obama “Nicely” To Return Peace Prize
Thorbjorn Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, said today that President Obama “really ought to consider” returning his Nobel Peace Prize Medal immediately, including the “really nice” case it came in.
Jagland, flanked by the other four members of the Committee, said they’d never before asked for the return of a Peace Prize, “even from a damnable war-criminal like Kissinger,” but that the 10% drawdown in US troops in Afghanistan the President announced last week capped a period of “non-Peace-Prize-winner-type behavior” in 2011.  “Guantanamo’s still open. There's bombing Libya. There's blowing bin Laden away rather than putting him on trial. Now a few US troops go home, but the US will be occupying Afghanistan until 2014 and beyond. Don’t even get me started on Yemen!”
The Committee awarded Obama the coveted prize in 2009 after he made a series of speeches in the first months of his presidency, which convinced the Peace Prize Committee that he was: “creating a new climate of...multilateral diplomacy...an emphasis on the role of the United Nations...of dialogue and negotiations as instruments for resolving international conflicts...and a vision of world free of nuclear arms.”
“Boy oh boy!” added Jagland. “Did we regret that press release!”

celebrate Norway's annual aquavit-tasting festival yesterday
But, he revealed the committee members were all “legless drunk” the day they voted, as it was the start of Norway’s annual aquavit-tasting festival. The “totally toasted” members listened over and over to replays of Obama’s Cairo speech, tearing up and drinking shots to the glorious future: a black man leading America and the world into a new era of peace, hope and goodwill. “For a few hours we were all 18 year-old students again at the beautiful, occasionally sunny University of Bergen! Oh, how we cried for joy!”
The chairman said the committee weren’t “going to be pills” about getting the Prize back because they still “basically really liked” Mr. Obama and that sending it back in a plain package by regular mail would fine if it would save him the embarrassment of a public return. But added Jagland, “things could get nasty” if the committee didn’t see it by the time they announce the new Peace Prize winner in the fall. He and the committee then excused themselves to resume their celebration of Norway’s annual aquavit-tasting festival.
The White House had no comment. It later announced an aggressive new covert CIA initiative to identify and apprehend Al Qaeda operatives in Scandinavia.

In defense of Amanda Bynes

Because I know that cops do what cops do.

I don't care about people like Amanda Bynes one way or the other. I don't watch TV and I haven't been to the movies in years. I work, eat, sleep, try to stay connected to my families, read and watch things on the internet that interest me, blog and listen to the radio almost all night six nights a week that I work.

If Amanda Bynes has ever gotten into my taxi I'd be the last to know, and up to a couple of days ago her name would have meant nothing, nada, zilch, rien.

Some people who are supposed to be her friends or know her are telling the world that she is unstable, bizzarre, whatever. I don't know. I don't know if she is a devotee of weed. I don't know if she had a bong in her apartment. I don't know if she smoked weed in the apartment lobby or tossed a bong out her wndow. I don't know.

But I feel obliged to defend her. Her accusations against the NYPD are getting her into the soup with the media and possibly with a broad segment of public opinion and that I think is not right.

People can say that I am a cop hater. No, I don't hate people, I hate institutions that abuse people and I hate3 the deeds of the people who function as abusers, especially as official government abusers.

Remember the case of Michael Pena, a cop who was confessed to raping a woman at gunpoint?

Remember this gem? A bad cop sexually used an intoxicated woman while his sensitive new age good cop buddy stood guard = this to a woman they who they were supposedly helping, and because she was intoxicated we are advised that her words mean nothing. Read it. It's pretty disgusting.

I know personally of one case of a disturbed woman who was sexually molested by two cops who wee transporting her to a hospital. The Emergency room doctor said he had heard the same accusation from several other women but he could say nothing because the ER depended on good relations (no pun intended) with the cops.  So I am going to speak out here and defend Amanda Bynes and remind the world of the following: NYPD cops are thugs and liars at least as often as not.

I was raised in a religious atheist home, where the religion was a mix of ex Orthodox Jew and Mid Victorian Stalinism/Zionism which are pretty much overlapping.
mid-Victorian
(mid′vik tôrē ən)
.

mid-Victorian

(mid′vik tôrē ən)
adjective
  1. of, like, or characteristic of the middle part of Queen Victoria's reign in Great Britain (c. 1850-90) or the culture, morals, or art of this period
  2. old-fashioned, prudish, morally strict, stuffy, etc.
noun
  1. a person who lived during this period
  2. a person of mid-Victorian ideas, manners, attitudes, e.

So I was taught against sex outside of marriage, homosexuality, abortion, escapist abuse of substances and so forth.

Regarding Homosexuality my parents mouthed stuff about not using the public toilets in the subway system because homosexuals lurked to recruit boys, they having been recruited in a similar manner, or having been poor then having sold themselves to homosexuals and learned to like it. Rounding it out there were indeed pedophiles who had approached me and friends of mine at various times as I exercised a great independence of movement and travel on the buses, subways and streets starting at around age eight. (This was not uncommon in those days, almost sixty years ago.) In a more modern time I would have been grabbed by the cops, turned over to the baby snatchers along with my little sister and my parents would have been arrested. Also there was the matter of Bino, my camp counselor at Boys Club camp.

I was raised though to believe it wrong to torment, tease or harass homosexuals, just best to stay away from them.

Then the sixties. I was a bit jealous that homosexuals got a free pass out of the military draft. I knew some homosexuals who were in the army anyhow. It didn't occur to me that perhaps they had strived to conceal this from the army shrinks not because they wanted to serve but for the same reasons I would not lie and claim to be one in order to avoid the draft: stigma and perceived unemployability for having such a stain on my "permanent record." (There was no "gay" then that I can recall.)

I got active by way of  a front group called "The American Servicemen's Union" in Workers World Party, and though I never formally joined there was a point they started calling me "comrade" and asking me to do this or that which most of the time I'd at least try to do. They trusted me to edit the monthly "newspaper" (The Bond)  that we mailed out by a few thousand copies monthly to members of the military. This and starting to pay voluntary nominal dues and i suppose at some point I "joined." When I joined, WWP hAd a similar reputation as did Revolutionary Union and other groups of the "far left" - mid Victorian officially, though quite a few members lived in no such way.

ne fine day the official position on gays changed or was made clear to me. "Comrade so and so is gay and he is a good comrade." And I couldn't argue with that.

Around those days (my aging memories blur things a bit) the Black Panther Party was engaged in pushing and shoving matches with Gay Liberation Front members and my natural inclination was to believe that the BPP was within its rights for example to proclaim that homosexuals (they'd use more street like idioms) ought not be teachers in schools where Black children attended. " Cuba, which I admired, said that homosexuality was a disease to be treated and the Vietnamese revolutionaries denied that any such behavior existed in their realm. That was the old time religion.

The GLF by the way had as one member a guy who had been a friend of mine and who had "come put" much to my shock and disbelief during the time I was away in the army. I met up with him once after that, but it was too awkward a situation for me and I never made another contact with him.

The GLF took the position that  being gay was not at all involuntary but that it was a decision, and a correct one for any revolutionary to take. This made me quite not comfortable and I guess that was the point in part. It was though a flip side to the old time religion in that it was saying that gays chose to go against nature and morals and ethics by certain translations.

Anyhow skip past those days. We've had the Stonewall riots, more and more people you'd say were educated and progress minded were endorsing "gay rights" and at one point it became more or less the consensus on the left. Then of course not too long ago our center right First Black President endorsed the right of gay people to marry each other which I felt was one of a few good reasons to oppose his opponent.

The Avakianites were slow, very slow, to give up that old time religion and to this day they cannot explain why it took so long. Many people won't give them the time of day on this matter alone. As Stalin had implemented the criminalizing of homosexuality this was mimicked in Soviet influenced countries and in parties that devolved from Stalin.

Wokers World then is a horse of a quite different color. I don't know how they deal with Stalin vs, Trotsky either publicly or internally. In my time they were trying to be secret Trotskyists, self avowed (pro)  Maoists with an unusual pro Soviet leaning. I guess their old time religiosity (they did not in honesty shout it from the roof tops, it simply was understood to be the religion at the time) had to do with their trying to campflage the fact that they didn't much like or respect Stalin at all but thought that the people they wanted to align with did.

Anyhow after all the sound a fury WWP leader Larry Holmes gets 500 views on You Tube over the course of a year, and Bob Avakian fails to fill a movie show at the Magic Johnson theater after two years of exertion. Who knew?
