I've simplified the pdf chart for September and ignored what appear to be  transfers within a fmily at no cost. I bet you didn't know thee is stock transfer going on in the medallion market. Note though how v e ry few transfers ther. Corporates went for 2,e are in a market of 14,999 medallions. In January Independent unrestricted (owner driver) went for $700,000. Corporate medallions went for $2,000,000 for two.
Wow do they come at what seems so steeep prices? Well, the owner driver is buying a job with a possible sub contractor, and he can at least hope to sell it at a gain.
The corporate owner can lease his medallions to a fleet or broker or manage it him/herself.
He will get a much higher return than on US Government notes and there is very little risj involved.
