What to make of some of the recent terrible explosions and their histories and aftermaths

Let's start with the biggest one, really a spate of deadly
bombings within a short period of time:

The death toll from a spate of bomb attacks across Iraq has
exceeded 55 with almost 200 injures, security and medical
sources say.

On Monday, six car bombs went off in five neighborhoods of the capital, Baghdad. Eleven people were killed and more than 50 others wounded in the explosions.

Three car bombs were also detonated in quick succession in Tuz Khurmatu, situated about 175 kilometers (110 miles) north of Baghdad, at around 8:00 a.m. local time (0500 GMT) in the center and east of the town. The blasts killed six people and wounded more than 60 others.

Another three car bombs ripped through the oil-rich northern city of Kirkuk, situated about 290 kilometers (175 miles) north of Baghdad, killing five people and wounding 30 others.

Meanwhile, 14 people were wounded in the city of Nasiriyah, situated about 305 kilometers (190 miles) south of Baghdad, when two explosives-laden cars exploded.

Explosions also occurred in the city of Hilla, situated about 100 kilometers (62 miles) south of Baghdad, the central city of Samarra, and Baquba. The blasts killed one person and wounded nearly 60 others.

The bombings were the latest in a string of attacks that have left scores of people dead across Iraq this year.

On Sunday, a series of attacks in Iraq killed 10 people, including a candidate running in the upcoming provincial elections.

On April 12, a dozen people were killed and over 30 others injured in a bomb attack near a mosque north of Baghdad. The explosion occurred as worshipers were leaving Omar bin Abdul Aziz Mosque in Kanaan, about 75 kilometers northeast of the capital, after the Friday Prayers.

A dozen people, including several Iraqi security officers, were also killed in Baghdad and in the city of Tikrit on April 1.

Iraq is preparing for its first elections in three years. The provincial polls are due to be held in 12 of Iraq’s 18 provinces on April 20.

Maybe you hadn't heard about them, or had forgotten about it.  Well, before Iraq was invaded for the second time and after years of ferocious economic sanctions by the US and it's Poodle Empire, England, Iraq was a pretty safe place to live. Women were professionals, they went to Universities. There was electricity 24/7. Members of various religious and ethnic groups might not have been most fond  each other, and some people were born more equal than others but there was a national identity, a functioning state and no car bombs. Christians were free to worship and did without fear. All different now since the West decided to liberate the place.

Iraq is likely going to suffer for many decades to come. Children will grow up learning the particular versions of these events that their grandparents and parents will teach. Look forward to several generations of very angry people, angry at you and me, perhaps.

HERE'S  another explosion with as many as 35 killed.

IMHO we have a bunch of stupid rednecks voting "against government" because they feel they are paying taxes to feed black people. Som their very homes and workplaces are at the mercy of the penny punching one percenters. Meanwhile the one percent steals over 31 trillions of dollars, hiding from their due share of taxes to pay for things like inspecting and regulating industrial facilities. This hiding of a third of the world's wealth is documented by al consortium of journalists and seemingly nothing happens, we move along as though there was nothing to see here.

If a group of journalists can find a hidden 31 trillion dollars do you mean to tell me that the FBI, CIA, NSA, MI5, eyc, could not and cannot do the same? That seems rathe far fetched to me, what say you? Angry yet?

An estimated one third of the world's wealth is concealed from tax authorities in this manner. While it's been very well known for a long time finally someone - a private consortium of journalists - has excavated the who, how ...

3500 workers die in industrial accidents every year. PSHA basically obly responds to worker complaints. In the new anti union climate, these complaints don't get made as workers fear being fired and black listed.
