I don't believe there will be any "immigration reform."

You see, I think the present set up works too well for too many interests.

Also I don't imagine minimum wage and sub minimum wage workers lining up to pay fines. Lots of them would fit into the "Lucky Ducky" - too poor to owe income taxes classification anyhow, - and those that do owe, well, with fines and interest it's going to be some heavy load. I suspect that quite a few won't come forward to take this punishment for doing the nasty work at subpar pay that native born don't do.

Many do pay into Social Security using false ID numbers that for some reason have not been screened out of the system. Could the reason be that these folks will be paying into this pension and disability insurance system and never be eligible to collect when the time comes and they need it? They're funding other people's pensions. Who really would want to put a stop to that?

And of course the Mitt Romneys of the world benefit from the low wages of the undocumented and the pressure against wages of all other workers in the country as well.

I know that New York would not be all that it is without these hard working people. Even Michael Bloomberg admits it. In fact he's sort of proud of it too.

When all is said and done I'll bet a dollar to a donut no bill will be passed in this Congress.
