I once knew this guy Larry Holmes and was a member of what is now his organization before he was. His outfit was one that did not participate in the elections of 2010 and 2012 and as far as I know (I'm ready to stand corrected) hardly made a peep about the GOP efforts to disenfranchise African Americans and other "Lucky Ducky" constituents of the Democratic Party (and who would be constituents of Holmes' outfit if ifs and buts were candies and nuts.) I googled and found two articles in their newspaper from 2012 and one from 2001 about this matter.
And look at all the You Tube action Holmes gets! 500 views over one year, 780 views over three years, and so forth... It's not too hard to see that this outfit is pretty isolated from "the masses" most of whom in the US and even in countries like Venezuela have internet access.
They could have done some good campaigning against the racist Mormon candidate. They could have made an issue of the denial of human rights that is the signal impact of the denial of the right to vote.
They may comfort themselves in believing that they are a part of the majority that does not vote, the defeated, the apathetic, the overwhelmed by life and its details. I've already said a lot around Bob Avakian and his cult here.
It's all so sad.
