Red nostalgia is widespread in Hungary (72% according to a Pew poll) , Bulgaria, and even Germany. People miss job security, comradeshop, cheap vacations for factory workers, low crime rate. They acknowledge that the system was imperfect but say on balance life was better.
I have said "communism is ridiculous." on this blog. If you go back though you see I am ripping little crypto religious cults like Workers World and the Avakian so called Maoist cult.
