Veneuelan opposition leader and mayor admits that recent oppositionist demonstrations are violent and criticizes them because violence will not work

I thought it important to show this to as many people as I can because the Venezuelan authorities will eventually have to squash these violent narcissistic actions, and when they do you will be seeing and hearing a lot about so called repression in Venezuela.

Friends, our country is going through a very complicated situation, and there are people who, based on the premise stating that the government ‘is weak', foster violent actions and protests," stated Ramón Muchacho, Mayor of Chacao municipality, located east Caracas.

The opposition mayor posted a reflection on his Facebook account apropos protests that have been staged in Chacao municipality this week, which he labeled as "violent." Muchacho rejected those demonstrations; he deemed it was wrong to believe that violence, disorder, chaos or anarchy can harm the government.

Muchacho acknowledged that it was "understandable to be desperate because of the crisis, but it is still a wrong approach." In addition, he stated that those violent protests are a "scourge," as they "lack political efficiency; they prevent us from reaching our goal of being closer to the country's large majorities; they block and asphyxiate ourselves," he stated.
