When he had this accident he did not have insurance company authorization to drive that cab. In spite of high trch tracking ability the TLC let the taxi medallion owner put this unauthorized driver behind the wheel day after day. Thenonly reason this even became news is because a TV Star physician happened to be on the scene.
This shit happens every day. The city wants more and more taxis, green cars, Ubers to replace unionized mass transit. (No, taxis are not unionized). Taxi driving is a hard job that frankly most people cannot do. It has a high burn out rate. Do we want thousands more when the city cannot regulate the ones we already have?
