I was dead wrong when I wrote that Bloomberg's Green taxis were finished. Now they are de Blasio's - and taxi driving as a way to make a living in New York is just about finished.

Political Science 101- The public wants slaves and if a pol can give them slaves with no out of pocket, well, it's a no brainer. New York wants cheap abundant taxis even in the most remote corner of town.

This new situation- 12000 green taxis, Uber, whose lawlessness makes it impossible to compete with (google District Attorney Uber Insurance fraud) along with the proposed 2000 additional medallion taxis being projected are the death of the yellowcab driver.

Something fishy is going on with the new medallion auctions. I will have more about that later.
