Changes, changes changes. It's like an eighteen wheeler is heading straight at me.

The Bloomberg taxi plan has got the green light from the highest court in New York, and he has let his intentions be understood clearly at this late date: Bloomberg is "gonna fuckin' destroy" my livelihood and that of thousands of others.

Thee are a few speed bumps in his way but I am not feeling as though they are big enough to stop him. Most certainly the fleets and brokers are going to sue at every turn of implementation. Also, most "gypsy" cabbies are not at all enthusiastic about being metered and tracked by GPS. They like it the way it is, with them earning off the books incomes. They have ben picking up off the streets for decades without these accoutrements and just fine, thank you very much."

Also there are many nights I work as much in Brooklyn as in Manhattan. That's because Brooklyn is taking on certain characteristics in common with Manhattan: People who have money but not automobiles,a or who park their cars in garages and use them for gettaways, not daily short trips and visitors from far away. But folks like the sound of equality, as though Charles Schwab is about to offer its services on 138th Street, which it is not.

Then there are the rulesw changes that the TLC is mulling over  rules to make it even easier for medallion owners to screw their drivers into the ground. Doesn't quite comport with Bloomberg's supposed carino for us chaufferes and the raloly today gor no traction in the puppy dog media. What;s left of the New York Central labor Council joined the Taxi 'Workers Alliance on the steps of City Hall to protest this today but you would never have known it, if it were not for me.

then there is this stuff with Uber, and Hailo and some others. Well, the very name Uber gives me the creeps, so I won't be going with them, but I have to buy a more modern phones and download one of these apps pronto or I'll be on the sidewalk.

Lyrics...*

Can't keep me down
Can't keep me down, down
Can't keep me down
I said you can't keep me down
You know you can't keep me down
I said you can't keep me down

Hey, hey, man! What's your problem?
I see you tryin' to hurt me bad
Don't know what you're up against
Maybe you should reconsider
Come up with another plan
Cuz you know I'm not that kinda girl
That'll lay there and let you come first

You can push me out the window
I'll just get back up
You can run over me with your 18 wheeler truck
And I won't give a fuck
You can hang me like a slave
I'll go underground
You can run over me with your 18 wheeler but
You can't keep me down, down, down, down

Can't keep me down, down
Can't keep me down, down, down
Can't keep me down, down

Hey, hey, girl! Are you ready for today?
You got your shield and sword?
Cuz its time to play the games
You are beautiful
Even though your not for sure
Don't let him pull you by the scar
You're gonna get your feelings hurt

You can push me out the window
I'll just get back up
You can run over me with your 18 wheeler truck
And I won't give a fuck
You can hang me like a slave
I'll go underground
You can run over me with your 18 wheeler but
You can't keep me down, down, down, down

You can push me out the window
I'll just get back up
You can run over me with your 18 wheeler truck
And I won't give a fuck
You can hang me like a slave
I'll go underground
You can run over me with your 18 wheeler but
You can't keep me down, down, down, down

Everywhere that I go
There's someone waitin' to chain me
Everything that I say
There's someone tryin' to short-change me
I am only this way
Because of what you have made me
And I'm not gonna break!

You can push me out the window
I'll just get back up
You can run over me with your 18 wheeler truck
And I won't give a fuck
You can hang me like a slave
I'll go underground
You can run over me with your 18 wheeler but
You can't keep me down, down, down, down
